Czech for Foreigners
We invite everyone who wants to learn Czech to regular courses at the Tábor Municipal Library.
The courses are for adults and children from 12 years old. They are taught by volunteers. The courses are free and no registration is required. Just bring writing materials; we will lend you a textbook on site.
End of the school year and summer holidays
Otakar Studnička’s Monday courses have already ended for this school year. Stanislav Dvořák’s last Friday lesson will take place on June 26, 2026.
Regular courses will not take place during the summer holidays. In the new school year, Friday courses start on September 11, 2026, and the first Monday lesson will take place on September 14, 2026.
Choosing a Course by Level
Courses are open to all nationalities. You can choose from courses for beginners, slightly advanced, intermediate and advanced students.
- Try a course: Not sure which level is right for you? You can try a lesson first. We will help you find the right level.
- Change your level: If the course is too easy or too difficult, you can move to another level.
- Attend more courses: If you want, you can attend more than one course at the same time.

In the 2026/2027 school year, the following Czech courses will take place at the library. Courses are not held during public holidays and school holidays.

All courses take place at the Tábor Municipal Library, Žižkovo náměstí 10, Klubovka, 1st floor.

Intensive Summer Czech Course for Children 11–14
During the summer holidays, the library will host an intensive Czech course for multilingual children who are entering grades 5–8 in September 2026. The course level is A0–A1.
- Date: August 17–28, 2026, Monday–Friday, 9:00–12:30
- Venue: Tábor Municipal Library, Žižkovo náměstí 10

CPIC Consultation for Foreigners in Tábor
The last CPIC consultation in June will take place on June 24, 2026. There will be no consultations during the summer holidays. Consultations will resume on September 10, 2026. See the flyer for more dates and times.
